Welcome to Hartley Tax.
My name is Jean Hartley and I established this firm in order to provide ministers with expert tax consultation concerning ministry tax. I am a tax accountant specializing in ministry tax and accounting and an Enrolled Agent with the IRS with 36 years of experience in the accounting field and 34 years specializing in ministry tax.
I feel very blessed to be able to assist those who serve at home and in the mission fields with their tax obligations. We have clients in mosts of the states in the US and all over the world in over 25 different countries!
We prepare the books for churches and non profits in six different states.
I have worked with and consult with hundreds of non ministry individuals and many many small businesses with tax and bookkeeping needs.
I truly love what I do and am also so blessed to have a staff that assists with our over 3000 clients.
And, yes, in my spare time (!) I am an Indiana State Champion Powerlifter (hoping to get the Florida titles this summer!)

Dan is an AFSP credentialed tax preparer with the IRS. He is in his eighth year with us and is in the office year round to help with your tax and bookkeeping needs.
Robin D. is back and looking forward to all our wonderful clients that drop off! We have hundreds! We are so thankful for her!
Robin F. is back and doing an amazing job working now as an administrative assistance! She helps all over the office all year in every way!
Tammy is with us this year as our portal manager. She is doing an amazing job as we try to perfect our processing of over 600 clients that utilize this process for completion of tax returns.
Shelly has been with us for over 8 years. She is our bookkeeper with extensive knowledge in quickbooks and payroll. If your church or nonprofit is in need of bookkeeping services. Call us. Shelly will get the job done. We also hired a full time all year bookkeeper, Michele. And, she is doing an outstanding job!
Katie is new to us this year as an all year position as our secretary. She is already picking up so much and doing an amazing job! She will also be (during tax seasson) processing all our drop off returns (a new process this year which allows our professional tax preparers to focus on returrn preparation). We are looking forward to a wonderful year!
